I’m Jennifer Suiter, author of "Glimmers in the Dark: Tales of a Bougie Widow."

I never planned on becoming a widow, and I certainly never imagined that grief would become such a defining part of my story. After losing both my son and my husband within twenty days of each other, my life changed in ways I could never have prepared for.

Glimmers in the Dark was born from what came next.

In the middle of unimaginable heartbreak, I began noticing small moments of light—what I call glimmers. They didn’t take away the grief or fix what couldn’t be fixed. They simply reminded me that even in the darkest seasons, there is still goodness to notice, laughter to be had, love to be felt, and a life still waiting to be lived.

I write honestly about grief, faith, family, ridiculous moments, sacred moments, and the strange reality of learning how to move forward when the life you planned is no longer the life you have.

I’m also a speaker, entrepreneur, mother of five, and the self-proclaimed Bougie Widow—because apparently grief and a love of pretty things can coexist.

​

My hope is that through my book, my writing, and speaking, I can help people feel a little less alone in their own darkness and remind them to keep looking for the light.

Because sometimes hope doesn’t arrive as something big.

Sometimes it comes as a glimmer.
